Every Fosfens luminaire is designed, machined, assembled and inspected by skilled craftspeople in our workshop south of Paris. Each creation calls for meticulous work, much of it carried out by hand. Here, the time devoted to every piece is an integral part of its quality. Nothing is rushed, nothing is left to chance.
From the first machining operation to the final finishing touch, every stage is approached with the same exacting standards. A constant attention to both material and gesture extends to details that may not be immediately visible, yet contribute to the integrity of the whole.
We select materials for their remarkable properties: titanium, stainless steel, aluminium drawn from the world of aerospace engineering, copper, solid brass and other precious metals, depending on the creation. These are combined with genuine glass optics, polished and treated with anti-reflective coatings, alongside carefully engineered baffles, reflectors and diffusers. Every component plays its part in controlling the beam and shaping the quality of the light.
Precision machining gives each material its final form, with particular attention to proportions, tolerances and surface quality. Every piece is then individually identified and, according to its nature, hand-polished or satin-finished. Technical precision meets the sensitivity of the human touch.
During assembly, each component is carefully fitted and adjusted. Joints, movements and connections are refined to achieve the right balance: natural fluidity, measured resistance and a precision felt in use as much as it is evident in the design. This mastery of mechanics gives each luminaire its coherence and freedom of movement.
The final stage is surface finishing, which reveals the distinctive character of each metal. Depending on the desired finish, successive electroplating processes create depth, brilliance or a subtle satin sheen, without concealing the material beneath a layer of paint. Much like the finishing of a fine piece of wood, where the grain is respected rather than obscured, our approach seeks to preserve and reveal the inherent qualities of each metal while ensuring a durable finish.

We may not cut diamonds just yet, but the precision of our machining shares a fundamental principle with fine jewellery: the pursuit of the perfect gesture and the art of revealing the material’s inherent beauty.
Machined from solid metal, the body of MagicEye features two distinct finishes: a mirror polish and a vinyl-like sheen, both achieved using a diamond-tipped tool. This meticulous process, carried out with an artisan’s care, creates exceptionally crisp surfaces on which light reflects with an almost crystalline depth.
At the rear, a radiating pattern unfolds like a flower of engineering. Its fins trace a regular, subtly curved profile, where mechanical rigour meets the elegance of organic forms. Designed around the demands of thermal management, this architecture dissipates heat passively, without mechanical ventilation or noise.

For centuries, the flame has seemed almost impossible to capture. At Fosfens, it has found a new expression, at the meeting point of an age-old gesture and the spirit of invention.
Made from high-purity wax, with no added fragrance, the candle preserves everything that makes a real flame so distinctive: its unpredictable movement, its warmth and its ever-changing nuances. A living light, at once familiar and endlessly different, inviting us to slow down, rediscover the pleasure of simple moments and leave the outside world behind.

Les Fleurs Nocturnes
Before electricity, there was the flame.
For centuries, it was our first source of light. It accompanied evenings spent together, revealed the character of materials, traced the contours of faces and lent ordinary moments a singular depth. More than a source of illumination, it created a sense of presence. It turned a house into a home and etched shared moments into memory.
Les Fleurs Nocturnes were born of this memory.
Inspired by Trudon’s Madeleine and Royale candles, Marcel and Louis reinterpret the candleholder in a contemporary language. Their design deliberately steps back, allowing what matters most to take centre stage: the living movement of the flame, the reflections across the metal and the warmth of a light that renders colours with exceptional richness. The flame reveals materials in their natural chromatic depth, without filters or artifice.
Each creation invites us to rediscover the pleasure of a simple gesture. Moving a Fleur Nocturne, lighting a candle, waiting a few moments for the light to find its place… A simple, almost forgotten ritual, brought back to life. Whether standing alone, in dialogue with one another or arranged in Quarto, Duo and Quattro compositions, Marcel and Louis offer the freedom to create luminous landscapes that evolve with their surroundings, the seasons and the moments we share.

Marcel
Made to order in our workshop south of Paris, Marcel is born from a precise balance of proportion, material and function. Each component is machined from solid material, carefully fitted and assembled by hand, with meticulous attention to detail and the refinement of every finish.
Available in Quarto, Duo and Quattro compositions, Marcel explores different arrangements within a consistent formal language. Standing alone, paired in dialogue or brought together as a composition, it creates a distinctive presence in which the design of the object complements the movement of the flame.
At the heart of Marcel, the cameo serves as the signature of the Les Fleurs Nocturnes collection. Inspired by historic candleholders, it combines ornamental character with mechanical purpose, naturally centring the candle and accommodating its gradual descent as it burns.
Grade 5 titanium, bronze, brass, stainless steel and aluminium offer distinct expressions of material. The range of finishes extends this diversity, from chromed, gold-finished or Black Nickel aluminium to silver-finished, gold-finished or Black Nickel brass. Depending on the chosen combinations, surfaces capture, soften or deepen reflections, continually transforming the relationship between the object and the light.
Precision extends to the very underside of the base. Three contact points combine a step machined into the body, a Grade 5 titanium quarter-circle and a discreet black Delrin pad. This considered design ensures Marcel’s stability while helping protect even the most delicate surfaces.

Made to order in our workshop south of Paris, Louis belongs to the same formal language as Marcel. Both creations share the same exacting attention to proportions, thicknesses, grooves and cameo design, extending even to details that may go unnoticed at first glance. This continuity allows them to be combined freely: each piece retains its own identity while entering naturally into dialogue with the other.
Designed to hold Trudon’s Royale candles, Louis reinterprets the tradition of grand historic candleholders through a distinctly contemporary lens. At the heart of the design, the cameo, signature of the Les Fleurs Nocturnes collection, unites ornament and function. It guides and centres the candle, accompanying it as it gradually burns down.
Available in Quarto, Duo and Quattro compositions, Louis asserts its presence on its own, alongside Marcel or as part of larger arrangements. The pieces can be combined freely, creating different interpretations of a shared formal language, shaped by the character of each space and the sensibilities of those who inhabit it.
Machined from solid material, each piece is then carefully fitted, polished and assembled by hand. With Le Spleen de Paris, the flame becomes a beam of light. A high-precision optical lens concentrates the light of a traditional candle to create a true spotlight. Naturally diffuse, the light is directed and intensified along the optical axis, following a principle reminiscent of historic reflector lanterns. A familiar flame thus reveals a new dimension, as technical ingenuity serves the living quality of candlelight.
Around the beam, a delicate, shifting halo takes shape, its contours evolving with the natural variations of the flame and the movement of the air. Whether placed on a mantelpiece, a console or a table, this projection seems to extend the candleholder itself. Light becomes a material in its own right, answered by shadow, as the object creates a distinctive interplay of light and space.
Every detail contributes to the balance between function and aesthetics. The cameo, the signature element of the design, is far more than an ornament. It allows the candle’s consumption to be followed and incorporates a discreet spring mechanism that makes replacement easier. MagicEye combines luminous power with precise beam control in an accent spotlight designed to reveal details, materials and works of art. Delivering up to 1,500 lumens at just 16 watts, it features a colour temperature of 2,700 K, with alternative options available to suit different atmospheres.
Its precise, stable beam allows light to be directed with finesse. The spectral quality of its light source supports faithful colour rendition, including deep reds. With no perceptible flicker, the light enhances the materials it illuminates without distracting from what it reveals. Designed for lasting performance, MagicEye has a rated lifespan of 50,000 hours.
This mastery of light rests on exacting mechanical engineering. Components are machined with exceptional precision, including through five-axis CNC machining, using carefully selected metals. The glass optic features a multilayer coating designed to optimise light transmission and preserve beam quality.

MagicEye II builds on the approach of the original model, delivering greater luminous output of up to 2,000 lumens at 22 watts. Available at a colour temperature of 2,700 K, with other options to suit different finishes and atmospheres, it combines controlled power with precise colour rendition.
Its colour performance speaks for itself: CRI 98, R9 95, Rf 96 and Rg 103. These figures reflect highly faithful colour reproduction, particular attention to deep reds and a balanced colour rendering suited to illuminating works of art, materials and architectural details. Dimming allows the intensity to be adjusted to each setting while preserving the quality of the light.

MagicEye III expands the expressive possibilities of the collection. Delivering up to 3,000 lumens at 35 watts, it produces generous illumination designed to complement architecture and envelop spaces in light. Its 2,700 K colour temperature, with alternative options available depending on the version, creates a warm presence and a carefully balanced atmosphere.
Designed to provide a 150° beam angle, its optic distributes light broadly and evenly. Volumes take shape, materials reveal their nuances and spaces are illuminated without losing their softness. Where the other models favour more concentrated illumination, MagicEye III explores a more diffuse approach, conceived to shape the atmosphere of an entire space.
Colour fidelity remains central to its design, with a CRI of 98 and an R9 value of 95, complemented by TM-30 evaluation data. Faithful colour reproduction helps reveal materials and details with precision. Dimming allows the light intensity to be adapted to different uses and moments, with particular attention to light stability.

Delivering 1,770 lumens at 19.5 watts, with a colour temperature of 2,700 K and other colour temperature options available, Corduroy combines optical precision with creative freedom. Inspired by photographic lenses, its mechanical zoom allows the beam to be adjusted with a smooth, intuitive movement: from 25° to 75° in the standard version, or from 12.5° to 75° with the X6 option. Light can be narrowed or widened to suit the intended effect, whether highlighting a detail, revealing a texture or shaping the perception of a space.
